
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – An Albuquerque man wanted on a felony warrant for arson was arrested Saturday after being spotted by a police officer.
According to a social media post from Albuquerque Fire Rescue, Nicholas Castillo was seen on the 100 block of San Mateo Drive NE. The officer recognized Castillo from a Crime Stoppers bulletin, which identified him as the suspect in a September 18 arson incident at a Marshalls store located at 9500 Montgomery NE.
Once the warrant was verified, Castillo was taken into custody. He was interviewed by AFR fire investigators and later booked into the Metropolitan Detention Center.
Authorities have not released additional details about the fire or any potential damages. The investigation remains ongoing.
