The skies over Albuquerque are about to come alive with color as the 2025 Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta kicks off October 4–12. Whether you’re a first-time visitor or a seasoned Fiesta fan, here’s everything you need to know to make the most of this iconic New Mexico event.
Where It Happens
Balloon Fiesta Park
Located west of I-25 between Alameda Blvd. and Roy Rd., the park is the launch site for hundreds of hot-air balloons each day.
Getting There
Driving & Parking
- Parking Fee: $20 per session (cash only)
- Expect traffic congestion around the park—plan ahead and check live traffic updates on 96.3 fm News Radio KKOB or 770 am.
Park-and-Ride (Weekends Only)
Avoid the traffic with park-and-ride service from these locations:
- Cottonwood Mall – NE lot near Seven Bar Loop & Coors Bypass NW
- Coronado Center – SW corner near San Pedro Dr. & Uptown Blvd
- Hoffmantown Church – NE parking lot only
- Intel (weekends only) – SE lot only
Park-and-ride tickets include admission and must be purchased online. No tickets sold at the lots.

Morning Sessions
- Departures: 4 a.m. & 5:30 a.m.
- Last inbound bus: 7 a.m.
- Return buses: 8 a.m. – 11 a.m.
- “Straggler” buses: 11 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
Evening Sessions
- Departures: 3 p.m. & 4:30 p.m.
- Last inbound bus: 6:30 p.m.
- Return buses: 7 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.
- “Straggler” buses: 9:30 p.m. – 10 p.m.
No park-and-ride service Monday–Wednesday.
When to Arrive
- Morning events: Arrive between 4 a.m. – 4:30 a.m.
- Evening events: Arrive by 4 p.m.
- Gates open: 4:30 a.m. (morning) / 3 p.m. (evening)

Weather & Launch Updates
Each morning, Balloon Fiesta officials hold a pilot briefing to assess weather conditions:
- Green flag: Balloons launch
- Red flag: Launch canceled, but static displays may still happen
If a session is canceled, your ticket can be used for another session.
