ALBUQUERQUE, N.M – Bernalillo County Sheriff’s deputies were involved in a shooting Saturday night in Albuquerque’s North Valley. The incident resulted in the death of one individual.
According to a BCSO spokesperson, deputies responded to an alarm activation at a business on the 6700 block of 2nd Street NW around 9 p.m. While at the scene, deputies encountered a man. At some point during the interaction, shots were fired.
The man, identified as 41-year-old Jonathan Dykstra, was pronounced dead at the scene. BCSO says next of kin have been notified. No deputies were injured.
The Multi-Agency Task Force is now investigating the incident.
