Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — New Mexico’s free fishing weekend is set for September 27 and 28. The state is waiving license requirements for those two days, allowing anyone to fish in approved public waters. While no license is needed, anglers must still follow all other fishing regulations. Game and Fish Secretary Mike Sloane says it’s a great opportunity for families to spend time together and enjoy the outdoors. The department hopes the event encourages more people to try fishing.
