Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — The U.S. Attorneys office for the District of NM announced today that an 18 year old will be facing federal charges for the alleged deadly car jacking of an Uber driver. According to court documents, Sheliky Sanchez Jr. carjacked, kidnapped, and shot his Uber driver, Joseph Andrus, on Aug. 7. Sanchez allegedly told detectives he had his girlfriend order the Uber because he wanted to let off steam due to “so much stress.” A federal grand jury indicted Sanchez for carjacking resulting in death, using a firearm during a violent crime and causing death by firing it, and kidnapping resulting in death. Sanchez will remain in jail until trial. No trial date has been scheduled.
