Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) –Tonight, once again, the Rio Rancho City Council is expected to have a public hearing regarding a controversial proposal to develop the former Club Rio Rancho golf course, which closed in 2016. The Chamisa Hills Master Plan would convert the course and country club into homes and shopping areas. The plan includes 110 lots, in addition to three neighborhoods on the old golf course, and some trail space and retail shops. City councilors have previously postponed a vote on the proposal after many residents spoke out against the plan. Residents will get a chance to speak again during the hearing this evening, starting at 6 p.m.
