Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — The Affordable Care Act may not be so affordable for some New Mexicans next year. The state Office of The Superintendent of Insurance says rates will be increasing by up to 52% next year. Plans sold through Be Well, NM’s Insurance Marketplace could see an average increase of 35%. Price hikes are due to increased medical and prescription drug costs, high demand for healthcare services and the pending expiration of Biden-era enhanced ACA tax credits.
