Santa Fe police are investigating a suspicious death now classified as a homicide.
Officers responded Sunday afternoon to a home near Lopez and Dunlap Streets, where a man was found dead. A few hours later, detectives located an SUV believed to be connected to the case.
When officers attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver sped away. Police identified the suspect as Abel Maez. After a brief pursuit, Maez allegedly fled on foot but was taken into custody shortly after.
Maez is facing charges of aggravated fleeing and resisting an officer. Investigators say he has a criminal history dating back to 2008.
