SANTA FE, N.M. — Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham has signed two emergency orders to unlock $1.5 million in state funding to help Mora County recover from recent flooding.
The flooding, caused by heavy rains on August 26 and 27, left damage across both public infrastructure and private property. In response, county officials requested support for road repairs, swift water rescue teams, and sandbag distribution.
The governor’s executive orders — 2025-361 and 2025-362 — direct $750,000 to the Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Management and another $750,000 to the Department of Military Affairs. Both agencies will work together to coordinate resources and meet the county’s needs.
