
Santa Fe, N.M. — Police are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying four men involved in a violent altercation that left two people injured in downtown Santa Fe.
On Saturday, August 17, officers responded to reports of a fight near the intersection of San Francisco and Galisteo streets. Upon arrival, they found a 71-year-old man unconscious with a broken neck and a 29-year-old man bleeding from the face. Both were transported to a local hospital for treatment.
According to witness statements, the incident began when four men, believed to be between the ages of 20 and 30, confronted the younger victim after accusing him of staring. The situation escalated into a physical fight. The older man was injured while attempting to intervene and was reportedly kicked while on the ground.
All four suspects fled the scene on foot and may have left in a red Ford F-50 truck. One suspect was seen wearing a black shirt and dark ball cap, while another, who allegedly kicked the older man, wore a gray shirt and a colored cap.
Santa Fe police are urging anyone with information to come forward. Tips can be submitted anonymously through the department’s official channels.
