ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — A section of 4th Street NW in Albuquerque’s North Valley will undergo repaving starting August 25, according to Bernalillo County officials.
Crews will begin removing old asphalt and laying new pavement from Alameda to Second Street. The project will start at Alameda and move northbound, with an expected completion date in mid-November.
County officials say there will be no full road closures during the work, but drivers should expect changes to traffic patterns as construction progresses. The contractor will coordinate directly with residents and business owners regarding any temporary closures to concrete driveways.
To minimize disruption during Balloon Fiesta, work will pause temporarily to allow traffic to flow freely in the area. The pause is intended to help ease congestion, as thousands of visitors travel through the North Valley to reach Balloon Fiesta Park and surrounding events.
