ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The City of Albuquerque’s Solid Waste Management Department has launched a new glass recycling drop-off site at the Palo Duro Senior Center, aiming to make recycling more accessible for residents in the area.
The new location offers a convenient way for residents to discard glass bottles and jars, aligning with the city’s broader goals to reduce landfill waste and promote sustainable practices. Officials say all collected glass will be reused, keeping it in the recycling stream.
Residents are asked to bring rinsed glass containers with labels and lids removed during the center’s operating hours. The city notes that glass is 100% recyclable and can be reprocessed indefinitely without losing quality.
