ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Albuquerque Fire Rescue responded early Thursday morning to a structure fire in northwest Albuquerque.
Crews were dispatched at approximately 1:09 a.m. to a residence at 6601 Mesa Mariposa Place NW. Engine 18 arrived to find flames coming from a closed garage and spreading into a two-story, single-family home.
Firefighters entered through the front door and began suppression efforts. AFR determined that a vehicle inside the garage had caught fire, which then extended into the garage and the structure. Crews brought the fire under control within 20 minutes.
A primary search of the home confirmed no one was inside at the time of the fire. No injuries were reported among civilians or AFR personnel.
The cause and origin of the fire remain under investigation.
