
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Albuquerque police are investigating a deadly shooting that occurred overnight in the South Valley.
Officers with the Southwest Area Command were dispatched to the 400 block of Merlida St. SW after a ShotSpotter activation alerted them to gunfire in the area. When officers arrived, they found a man with gunshot wounds who was pronounced dead at the scene.
APD’s homicide detectives were called in to begin an investigation, which remains ongoing. No further details have been released.
