ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — A small fire broke out yesterday evening at the Crossroads Motel, a location well-known for its appearances in the hit TV series Breaking Bad.
Albuquerque Fire Rescue was dispatched to the motel at 1001 Central Ave NE around 7:19 p.m. after reports of a possible structure fire. Crews arrived to find a two-story multifamily building with a small fire in the east wall. The blaze was brought under control within 20 minutes.
Damage was mostly limited to the east wall, affecting several rooms and the exterior. No injuries were reported among civilians or firefighters.
AFR investigators are working to determine the origin and cause of the fire, which remains undetermined at this time. Four individuals were impacted, and AFR is coordinating with motel management to assess whether alternate accommodations are needed or if Red Cross assistance will be activated.
