Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — Western New Mexico University Regents have voided the severance agreement with former president Joseph Shepard. The governing board appointed this year took a closer look at the contract approved by the former regents – a nearly 2-million dollar severance package, plus a sabbatical. Shepard was supposed to teach a course in business ethics this year. Shepard was hired in 2011, and resigned after the state auditor looked into spending on business travel and luxury furnishings for his office.
