BERNALILLO, N.M. — Police are still searching for a suspect in a deadly shooting that happened late Monday night in Bernalillo.
According to investigators, two people were shot around 10 p.m. near a senior center and several homes. One victim died at the scene. The other was taken to the hospital for surgery. Their condition has not been released.
The Town of Bernalillo Police Chief issued a shelter-in-place order for all residents east of the Rio Grande River as officers searched for a masked suspect described as potentially violent. That order was lifted just after midnight Tuesday, but the suspect has not been located.
Authorities say the investigation is ongoing. The Town of Bernalillo will provide additional updates as they become available.
