ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Lindy’s Diner, a longtime staple in downtown Albuquerque, has earned national recognition from the Food Network, landing a spot on its list of “Classic Diners You Don’t Want To Miss, in All 50 States.”
Located at the corner of Central and Fifth, Lindy’s has been serving up comfort food since 1929, originally opening as Coney Island Cafe. The Food Network praised the diner’s signature dishes, including the Cowboy Breakfast—a hearty plate featuring chicken fried steak smothered in red or green chile, cheese, eggs, beans, hash browns, and a tortilla.
Also highlighted were the Green Chile Cheeseburger, a New Mexican favorite, and the Spartacus Burger, topped with feta cheese, gyro meat, and tzatziki sauce—a nod to the owner’s Greek heritage.
Beyond the menu, Lindy’s was recognized for its welcoming atmosphere, including being pet-friendly, and its history as a filming location for various movies and TV shows. The diner continues to be a beloved part of Albuquerque’s Route 66 charm.
