Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) –Former UFC fighter Diego Sanchez was arrested Thursday after APD says he fired a weapon from a car. During a traffic stop on I-40 near University the officer on scene, reports a white Jeep passed by and the officer heard “a loud bang.” Police service aides also on scene said the passenger of the Jeep “shot off a round.” Authorities followed the vehicle to the Sixth Street exit on I-40 and performed a felony stop. Questioned by police Sanchez told officers there was a gun in the car but that he hadn’t fired the weapon. The driver of the car contradicted his statement and said Sanchez shot a gun while in the car. Sanchez was arrested and booked on charges of shooting at or from a motor vehicle and negligent use of a firearm.
