
RUIDOSO, N.M. — Flash flooding in the Ruidoso area has led to multiple swift water rescues as heavy rain continues to impact the region.
According to the National Weather Service, two separate water rescues were reported today. The first involved a person trapped in a trailer near Ruidoso. The second occurred on Friedenbloom Drive near Ruidoso Downs. Both individuals were safely rescued from the floodwaters, and no injuries have been reported.
Authorities also confirmed that the Cherokee Mobile Home Park has been flooded and is currently inaccessible.
A Flash Flood Warning remains in effect for Ruidoso and Ruidoso Downs through Thursday afternoon. Residents are urged to avoid low-lying areas, heed all warnings, and never attempt to drive through flooded roadways.
