Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — A former 1940s diner turned APD substation in Nob Hill may soon return to its roots. The city is proposing to move the building—once the Little House Diner—to the Route 66 Visitor Center as part of the 2026 centennial celebration. Officials say it’s a chance to highlight Route 66 history and small business culture. But some locals question the move, saying the building is already iconic where it stands. The city has not yet released a timeline or cost.
