Bernalillo County is inviting artists from across the Southwest to help shape a historic public art project—the first publicly funded COVID memorial in the United States.
The memorial will be located at the Dr. E. A. “Swede” Scholer Regional Recreation Complex in Albuquerque and will feature a “pilgrimage path” lined with perforated metal panels. These panels will cast light and shadow along the walkway, creating a contemplative space to honor those affected by the pandemic.

- Who: Open to artists residing in New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, Oklahoma, Texas, or Utah
- How Many: 6 artists will be selected
