
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Albuquerque police are investigating a fatal stabbing that occurred early Tuesday morning near a city bus in northwest Albuquerque.
According to the Albuquerque Police Department, officers responded around 6:30 a.m. to the area of 1521 Coors Blvd NW, near Iliff Road, after receiving reports that a man had been stabbed outside a city bus. The victim was transported to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
Police say the bus driver is currently detained for questioning. Homicide detectives are on scene and have launched a full investigation into the incident. No further details about the circumstances or individuals involved have been released at this time.
As of Tuesday morning, all southbound lanes of Coors Boulevard are closed at Iliff Road. Drivers are advised to avoid the area while the investigation continues.
