Albuquerque, NM — The Albuquerque Police Department’s Fatal Crash Team is investigating a deadly collision involving a pedestrian near the intersection of Coors Boulevard NW and Quail Road NW.
Officers responded to the scene shortly after 9:00 p.m. on Saturday, following reports that a male pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle. According to the preliminary investigation, both directions of Coors Blvd had a green light at the time of the incident. A white Nissan Kicks was traveling northbound in the center lane when the pedestrian reportedly ran into traffic from east to west.
The driver attempted to avoid the pedestrian but was unable to do so. The pedestrian sustained critical injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The vehicle involved remained at the scene, and the investigation is ongoing. Additional details will be released as they become available.
