Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — “Nuestro Corazon” is bringing national recognition to a team of NMSU food scientists. The team of five received the platinum dairy innovator award and $10,000 prize at the “Dairy Management Incorporated” new product competition. “Nuestro Corazón” is the name of their nutritious product that doesn’t taste like a typical health food. It consists of a snack pack of cheese crackers and a yogurt-based spread. The annual contest started in 2012, and this year’s challenge was creating a dairy-forward product that supports heart health and weight management.
