Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — New Mexico Lt. Governor Howie Morales says he will not run for governor in 2026. Morales cited a desire to spend more time with his family after his current term ends. He had been weighing a run alongside other Democratic hopefuls but says he’s at peace with stepping back. Morales is also in talks with Western New Mexico University about a possible leadership role.
