Fire restrictions in place

Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — The State Forestry Division is imposing fire restrictions across much of New Mexico as we head into the Memorial Day weekend. .This means smoking, campfires, fireworks and other activities that produce sparks or flames are prohibited on state lands. The restrictions include all of central New Mexico, including Bernalillo, Sandoval and Valencia counties. Warm, dry winds are expected to see high fire danger through the holiday weekend. The fire restrictions will remain in place until the State Forester decides conditions have improved… which may not be until after the monsoon season begins.
