Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — The Albuquerque Public School Board gave their final approval to the biggest budget in district history this week, despite a steady decline in the number of students they serve. Superintendent Gabriela Blakey presented the $2.25-Billion spending plan. At no point of the meeting did the question come up as to why the budget is more than $100-million larger than the current year, despite the ongoing shrinking of the student population. The cost per pupil increases by $3-thosuand this year. The APS budget now heads to the State Public Education Department to be finalized.
