Funding for New Mexico arts cut

Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — New Mexico Arts organizations are expressing shock over the loss of federal grant funding. The non-profits had just received an e-mail from the Trump Administration, saying the National Endowment for the Arts would be prioritizing projects that highlight the nation’s rich heritage, including ones that elevate Hispanic serving institutions. However, the National Institute of Flamenco, the New Mexico Jazz Festival, Santa Fe Desert Chorale and others have been informed their grants are eliminated. Notice of the grant eliminations arrived Friday.
