
Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — An Albuquerque police officer was caught in a DWI checkpoint Saturday night with a 6-year-old child in his vehicle. 38-year-old Jonathan Franco was off-duty and stopped in a Sheriff’s checkpoint near Unser and Rainbow Northwest. The Deputy noted a strong smell of alcohol, and gave him a breath test, which he failed. Franco is due in court today. On Friday afternoon, New Mexico State Police Officer Hugo Diaz Amaya was booked for DWI in Rio Rancho after a minor crash at State Route 528 and Highway 550. His charges include leaving the scene.
