Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — With the goal of curbing dangerous driving, enforcing moving violations, and creating a heavy presence of law enforcement officers, NMSP conducted a major traffic operation on December 20th. Over a period of 4 hours officers contacted over 400 drivers, issued 585 citations, and made 15 arrests, 3 of which were DWIs. Citations issued ranged from violations such as speeding, no insurance, and no seatbelt. The department says it will continue to conduct operations throughout the rest of the year and into 2025.
