Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — Albuquerque is increasing public safety measures for the holiday shopping season, including new efforts to combat shoplifting. A new law now lets police charge repeat shoplifters with felonies. Mayor Tim Keller spoke on the matter at Cottonwood Mall, and touted APD’s increased patrols in busy shopping areas with uniformed officers, undercover detectives, and tech tools like ShotSpotter and license plate readers.
