Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — Sandia National Laboratories’ has made the top 500 list of the world’s fastest supercomputers. The “El Dorado”, ranks 20th on the list. The machine was designed and built by Hewlett-Packard Enterprise. It has coolant fluid that is piped through to help remove heat that is generated by the machine. The Sandia computing manager says, without the cooling fluid it would be nearly impossible to operate the system and deal with the heat produced.
