Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — AFR said they responded to at least 87 outside fires within the last 24 hours. The department said those numbers aren’t out of the ordinary considering the decreasing temperatures. The majority of call responses are in the East-Central corridor and Northeast Heights. In anticipation of the influx of cold weather calls, AFR launched Brush 3 last year. The AFR truck is aimed solely at combating outside fires. Since October 30th, the department said the truck has responded to around 600 calls for smaller blazes. The department is urging the public to call 911 if they see any fires.
