Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — Albuquerque City Councilor Louie Sanchez is accusing the APD Chief of misconduct. Sanchez filed the complaint with the Department of Public Safety, known as a LEA-90 to investigate Chief Harold Medina for his actions at the scene of a crash in February. Sanchez says his actions violated the Public Safety Accountability Law, requiring officers to wear body cameras and record their interactions. In a release he stated, as the chief Law Enforcement officer of the state’s largest police department, the chief should hold himself to a higher standard. The mayor’s office sent our news partners at KOAT a statement saying, Louie Sanchez has publicly carried a grudge against Chief Medina for years.
