Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — Bernalillo County officials say they’ve successfully negotiated and finalized a contract with Cindy Chavez to serve as the county’s next county manager. It goes before the Board of County Commissioners for final consideration at its Aug. 27th administrative meeting. If approved, Chavez’s official start date is Nov. 13th. The Board of County Commissioners selected Chavez June 25th, pending employment contract negotiations. Chavez is a native New Mexican. Her professional background comes from San Jose, California, where she serves on the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors.
