Swift water rescue

Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — Friday night just after six, AFR units were dispatched to Wyoming Boulevard Northeast and Lomas about reports of a victim in the I-40 channel just west of Lomas. Several units responded to I-40 and Wyoming for a flood channel rescue involving a confirmed male and a dog in the arroyo. A victim was spotted but swept away. Then, crews responded to their deployment area along Menaul where the man was spotted again and showed no signs of life. A rope throw bag was deployed but was unsuccessful. The last known sighting of the victim was in the North Diversion Channel at Osuna. Crews reported the victim was floating face down and appeared lifeless. Meanwhile, first responders along the I-40 Channel at Wyoming successfully rescued a man and his dog. The man refused medical treatment. Crews diverted their search for the other victim at the Roy washout site, for a potential body recovery, but were unable to locate that person.
