Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — There’s a new city commission keeping an eye on the opening of the Route 66 Visitor Center. Monday night the Albuquerque City Council voted to create the body. The commission will include city officials and representatives of the non-profit that has been running the center. The group has quite a “to-do” list: recommending new policies to run the center, coming up with a fee schedule for renting rooms there and getting out the word to residents and visitors about Route 66. The commission will also arrange contracts between the city and vendors
