Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — APD Internal Affairs investigators were waiting to schedule an interview with Officer Neill Elsman when he returned from military leave. Elsman had been on military leave since October 2023, which is prior to the start of a DWI investigation initiated on January 23rd. Informed he had to return to work at APD this week, he resigned on Tuesday. Elsman will still be asked to appear for a voluntary interview with APD Internal Affairs detectives. APD officials also terminated former Commander Mark Landavazo following a third investigation that started as a result of the initial DWI investigation.
