Stansbury on the Postsecondary Student Success Act

Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — Last week U.S. Rep. Melanie Stansbury hosted a press conference at Central New Mexico Community College on the Postsecondary Student Success Act. Introduced by Stansbury, the bill will help nontraditional students and students by permanently reauthorizing the Postsecondary Student Success Grant program. It will provide investments in evidence-based initiatives aimed at enhancing education retention and completion rates. Studies reveal that a significant number of students who embark on their college journey, whether at two-year or four-year institutions, falter before completing their degrees. Stansbury said, nontraditional students face unique challenges in higher education, including a lack of resources and support.
