BernCo Treasurer’s Office mails yearly unpaid property tax notices

Bernalillo County, NM (KKOB) — The BernCo Treasurer’s Office mailed approximately 28,000 notices of delinquency to remind owners to pay their property taxes.

Unpaid property tax notices are for delinquent property taxes for real property land, personal property/livestock, and manufactured homes/mobile homes. Taxpayers have until July 10 to make payments in full. On July 11 unpaid property taxes are subject to additional interest and penalty fees added to the original taxes owed.

The Treasurer’s Office encourages all property owners who owe their 2021 taxes to make a payment in full no later than June 30, 2024. All owed 2021 properties with unpaid property taxes for 2021 will be transferred to the New Mexico Taxation & Revenue Department’s Delinquent Property division (PTD) for debt collection and possible auction on July 1, 2024.
