BernCo Commissioners to select top three county manager candidates

Bernalillo County, NM (KKOB) — The community can expect to learn who the top three county manager candidates are during today’s County Commission meeting, beginning at 5 p.m. in the Ken Sanchez Commission Chambers at Alvarado Square.

On Tuesday, June 11, the Board of County Commissioners will first meet in a closed meeting earlier in the day to discuss five candidates the County Manager Search Committee presented to them last week. The top five candidates have been interviewed by the full commission. Those five candidates and other applicants considered for the county manager job are posted on the county’s website, here.

I would like to thank our local search committee for doing an excellent job in providing a stellar group of qualified candidates for the county manager position,” says County Commission Chair Barbara Baca. “After the three finalists are named, the board wants to give the community an opportunity to hear from each one of them. We’re working to schedule a special public meeting next week and invite the candidates to appear in person to share their vision for Bernalillo County.

The County Commission is expected to choose a new county manager before the end of the month. Current County Manager Julie Morgas Baca announced plans to retire June 30.
