Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — The 2024 college bowl season will return to Albuquerque, N.M., for the 19th annual Isleta New Mexico Bowl on Saturday, December 28, from University Stadium on the campus of the University of New Mexico. Kickoff is scheduled for 12:15 p.m. MT with the game to be televised on ESPN.
“It is great to once again be able to showcase our beautiful state and city to our guests and a national television audience on a Saturday afternoon during the holiday season,” said Executive Director Jeff Siembieda. “We’re excited, for the first time, to play post-Christmas. This will be a tremendous opportunity for local fans to enjoy the pageantry of the 19th annual Isleta New Mexico Bowl and at the same time it will give fans from the participating teams plenty of time to travel to Albuquerque.”
The game, which has been played on the opening Saturday of Bowl Season for 17 of the last 18 years, is slated to move to the prestigious post-Christmas time frame for the first time, will feature a team from the Mountain West Conference against a team from either Conference USA, the American Athletic Conference, the Sun Belt Conference or the Mid-American Conference.
In the 2023 edition of the Isleta New Mexico Bowl, Fresno State defeated the Aggies of New Mexico State 37-10 in front of over 30,000 attendees.
