Huning Highland residents are concerned

Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — Residents in Albuquerque’s Huning Highland neighborhood are fighting a highway reconstruction project. Wednesday night at their monthly meeting, the downtown group discussed the New Mexico Department of Transportation’s various options addressing the notorious S-curve on I-25. One of which would straighten the highway by shifting it west . The group fears that option would push into their neighborhood and destroy homes. The other possibility would be to shift the road to the east. Planners are also considering extending the lengths of on and off ramps. The NMDOT has extended the length of public comment for its study until June 10th.
