HSD welcomes Melissa Kozlowski as new director of Income Support Division

Santa Fe, NM (KKOB) — Melissa Kozlowski is the new director of the Income Support Division, announced by the New Mexico Human Services Department (HSD) today. With over two decades of experience in operational management within the private sector, Kozlowski brings a wealth of knowledge and leadership skills to her new role, effective May 1, 2024.  

 “I am very excited to welcome Niki Kozlowski to the Income Support Division as we transition into the Health Care Authority,” said HSD Deputy Secretary Kyra Ochoa. “Her experience leading and motivating diverse teams to provide excellent customer service will boost our ability to connect New Mexicans to vital safety net resources.”  

“I am honored to lead the Income Support Division and am committed to improving our service delivery to ensure that our customers have access to the benefits and programs they need to prosper,” said Melissa Kozlowski, newly appointed ISD Director.  

Kozlowski’s career highlights include her ability to manage large teams effectively, foster strong relationships, and drive strategic initiatives that meet key performance metrics—all aimed at delivering superior customer experiences. Her approach emphasizes employee engagement, fostering a culture of inclusion that enhances team cohesion and promotes collaborative efforts.  

Kozlowski has experience managing large call centers, spearheading initiatives launching regional communication strategies and building data analysis teams.  

A lifelong resident of Albuquerque, Kozlowski lives with her husband and their two high school-aged children. She enjoys an active lifestyle that includes working out, camping, and spending quality time with her family and their puppy, Penny.
