Skeen excessive force trial continues

Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — The trial against a former Albuquerque Police Department officer accused of dragging a disabled man out of Target on Coors continued Thursday. Kenneth Skeens is accused of using excessive force against Matthew McManus while he was at the self checkout trying to buy a bike. The state argues Skeens use force to pull the man out of the Target without lawful authority and making false claims about the situation in his reports. The defense says that Target has a history of bike thefts. Detective Troy Simpson told the court his investigation did not find any evidence McManus had committed any crime.
