17 year old stays in custody

Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — A 17-year-old Albuquerque boy will remain in custody as he faces charges for an alleged armed carjacking that led to a police pursuit Monday. According to police, the teen stole a woman’s car, after the first attempt failed. Once the vehicle was spotted, officer’s began a pursuit. During the pursuit, an officer struck a pedestrian, other officers arrested the teen. He is charged with robbery with a deadly weapon, attempt to commit a second-degree felony, aggravated fleeing, and unlawful carrying of a handgun. The Bernalillo County District Attorney’s Office reiterated Thursday that the state plans to charge the 17-year-old as an adult.
