Montoya wants the focus on the border

Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — A special legislative session will convene in July. And House Republican Leader Rod Montoya has said what his focus will be during the summer meeting. He believes the failure of the government to secure our southern border is the number one issue for his constituents. In particular, he mentioned limiting driver’s licenses to “undocumented” individuals, and limiting cities from becoming “sanctuary cities” for those undocumented people. Adding, the feds, up to this point, have not done anything to protect the border. Under New Mexico’s constitution, lawmakers are only allowed to consider topics approved by the governor during special sessions.
