Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — After pleading guilty to federal program fraud in 2023, 48-year-old Beverly Scott of Albuquerque, has been sentenced to just over 12 months in prison. She will also have to pay back hundreds of thousands of dollars. According to the DOJ, Scott worked as a clerk for the Pueblo of Jemez. In 2020, investigators discovered over 100 checks had been made out to Scott, totaling nearly $390,000. Officials claimed she admitted to issuing the checks and losing the money at local casinos. Now, she will have to pay all that money back.
