Westgate neighborhood construction

Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — Today sees the start of major construction on an intersection in the Westgate neighborhood. Crews are expected to spend 10 months overhauling the 98th Street and Gibson Boulevard intersection. Changes being made includes replacing the four-way stop with a four-way signal, new road striping and lighting, and a new Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacon at the Amole Arroyo Trail Crossing. During the construction, there will be a six-month detour of traffic through the area. Phase one is expected to last through September. Additional phases will follow, with the project expected to be completed in February 2025.
